I originally wrote this post for my other blog, This Thread, about an year ago. It was nothing more than an acknowledgment to how I enjoyed reading Head First Servlet and JSP. In that period I had to refresh my Java EE knowledge, as required by I project I was involved in at that time.
Sometimes the Head First books are not too detailed, and it is often a good idea having more technical manuals at hand, but they are fun, and I think they are a especially good when you are doing something else during the day and you spend a few hours in the evening reading about programming.
In any case, better to have you laptop at hand to test what you are reading.
